Take a boat ride through the cave and watch the birds return to their nests.
We recently took a trip to Ninh Binh, and the weather was pleasant and cool, perfect for taking photos and birdwatching.
This is also the time when many birds can be seen, as the peak breeding season for birds in Thung Nham is from August to April of the following year.
The drive from Hanoi to Ninh Binh takes about an hour and a half by car, so we chose a small homestay surrounded by rocky mountains and a river.
Before heading to Thung Nham, we discussed stopping to eat goat meat, a local specialty that everyone said was a must-try.
Following the homestay owner's recommendation, we visited a famous restaurant nearby and ordered a plate of pan-fried goat meat with goat heart soup and crispy rice.
